This series is going to be showing at the Loft Beats Gallery in Pomona during the month of December. It’s my way of paying homage to old school gaming and DJ technology, the underground bass music subculture and of course some of my artists of inspiration including Toru Iwatani. Wakka Wakka!

I decided to try and share daily doodles on here. I can’t actually promise daily posts, especially not colored ones, but ‘as-frequently-as-possible doodles’ just doesn’t sound as catchy.

so anyway here’s a sketchbook doodle – mechanical pencil/digitally painted.

feel free to share. xo

This one isn’t done yet, but still showed in DTLA this past weekend.  I’m making it to print on a journal for my sister. I want to give her a unique and special place to put her amazing writing. Don’t tell her, though. It’s a surprise!

Obviously she isn’t one of the five people following my blog, who – by the way – I’m totally grateful for. Thank you – five!

I have more in the works. Gonna roll with this series until I run out of inspiration for it.

The past 5-6 years have been really rough on me, and as a result I am finding it a lot more difficult these days to stay in a positive state of mind.  So, like everything in life, I have to work hard to keep myself happy – one method is to focus on things that make me feel good. (No shit, right?) Hence – my Happy Places Series.

I also try to keep a happy journal where I write happy thoughts or try to take my unhappy thoughts and turn them around. It helps, if any of you out there suffer from depression or are just plain unhappy.  Try it.

A lot of my art in the past has dealt with my negative feelings and experiences, that still applies to this but I am taking a different approach. I’m sure I’ll still push out some disturbing cuteness but for now this is what I’ve been working on.

Hope you enjoy!

P.S. sorry about the dead sea image – I don’t know why it’s getting those lines across during upload. feh!
