This talk walks you through WordPress basics: everything from file structure and database architecture to wp-admin usage and .htaccess, object oriented programming foundation and how that applies to WordPress through hooks, actions and filters, and plugin and theme structure. Perfect for someone starting their journey with WordPress who wants to understand it better.
Howeverrr … This talk was one of the many (*MANY*) times I have embarrassed myself in front of WP crowds. I had been super sick (with the original strain of covid, like suuper sick), was transitioning jobs, and generally have horrible stage fright – so I spent the first 10 minutes of this talk literally choking repeatedly in front of everyone. Sooooo yeah… I asked WordPress.tv to delete the video of my talk. But the content is solid, and it was still a great learning experience for all.
